Lower Extremity

Shoes, Orthofeet Casual Shoe

Purpose of the Device

  • Specifically addresses the biomechanics of walking by limiting stress at the areas of the foot most susceptible to pain

Indications

  • Diabetes
  • Hammer toes
  • When a patient's foot orthotics necessitate a very deep shoe
  • Arthritis
  • Healing ulcerations
  • Fat pad atrophy

Common Additions

  • Custom multi-density inserts
  • Steel shanks
  • Velcro closure
  • Attach to metal lower-extremity brace
  • Heel or sole lifts

Special Considerations

  • Shoes are constructed with rocker bottom soles, which are lightweight polyurethane for good shock-absorption resilience
  • Rocker design reduces stress in the metatarsal heads, and the recessed heels delay impact at heel strike
  • Also feature three removable insoles for extra depth and a perfect fit
  • One of the insoles is an Anti-shox orthotic that provides longitudinal arch support and a metatarsal cushion
