Purpose of the Device
- Provides minimal biomechanical control but is well suited for patient who needs shock absorbency and pressure redistribution
- Base of rigid foam or cork provides support to the medial and transverse arches
- For diabetic patients, top cover of pink plastazote is used to interface with the sensitive plantar surface of the foot

Special Considerations
- A variety of soft materials may be used to suit individual patient needs
- Extra depth shoes may be needed to accommodate the thickness of the orthotic
