Purpose of the Device

Provides hydrostatic support to the humerus prophylactically or post fracture to maintain optimal alignment

Indications

Humeral FX of midshaft
Carcinoma of humerus

Common Additions

Over-the-shoulder style for proximal FX
Forearm extension with joints for distal FX (see molded elbow orthosis)

Special Considerations

Most patients can be fit in an off-the-shelf device but custom molded devices are available for special circumstances
