Making orthotic and prosthetic devices for children is totally different than making the same items for adults. They present many challenges that are unique and require creative solutions. De La Torre clinicians are educated and experienced in dealing with these unique challenges. We utilize products both custom and pre-manufactured, that allow for the care of children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, scoliosis, development delay and many other diagnoses.
We may meet your child in the hospital, a facility, a clinic or at our own offices. Evaluation and collaboration with other healthcare providers such as physical medicine physicians, physical and occupational therapists is essential. Together we will work toward solutions and improved daily living for each child. You can learn more about De La Torre O & P’s Pediatric practice here.
Evaluation:
It all starts with where your child is now. Your concerns relayed to a medical professional that is working with your child, a doctor’s visit or an evaluation from a therapist could be the start of our relationship with you and your child. We will evaluate their bracing needs and tailor a plan with the team to meet your child’s desired outcomes.
Insurance clarification:
Throughout your process from evaluation to re occurring check ups, our administrative staff will help you know about your insurance coverage.
Brace manufacturing, ordering, and fitting:
Completed for the optimum fit and function for your child. Our orthotist will keep you and the therapist informed on expected delivery and fitting issues.
Follow Up:
Kids change and grow. If your bracing needs continue we will be there to help you determine if and when the brace needs to be re fit or re ordered.
