UNION ORTHOTICS & PROSTHETICS CO. ANNOUNCES THE ACQUISITION OF DE LA TORRE ORTHOTICS AND PROSTHETICS, INC.
Pittsburgh, PA, September 30, 2020—Union Orthotics & Prosthetics Co. (“Union”) and De La Torre Orthotics and Prosthetics (“De La Torre”), both leading sources of custom orthotic and prosthetic solutions in western Pennsylvania, today announced the completion of a merger of the two clinical providers.
The combined company will continue to operate under both the Union and De La Torre brands. Ann Moss, president of Union, will serve as the president of the new combined company. Paul De La Torre, chairman, and Ed De La Torre, president, will work with the management team through the transition to a single organization.
“Our shared culture as successful family businesses, combined with our complementary capabilities in both orthotics and prosthetics, made this merger an ideal fit for serving our patients throughout western Pennsylvania,” Moss said. “We are excited to expand our footprint while getting to introduce ourselves to new patients throughout the region.”
“This merger of equals will ensure that the high level of patient care on which both companies have built their reputations will continue for many years to come,” Paul De La Torre said.
The combined company employs more than 135 staff members across 20 offices in the western third of Pennsylvania. In addition to its clinical offices, the company will operate multiple fabrication facilities across the region. The merger will result in the largest orthotic and prosthetic provider in the area, serving patients in more than 20 counties.
As the COVID-19 (Corona Virus) has expanded into Pennsylvania, De La Torre Orthotics & Prosthetics, Inc. is taking every precaution to assure your safety and the safety of our employees.
Our offices will be using EPA approved disinfection techniques throughout the day.
These precautions include:
